TREATMENTS

• No other fungicides or insecticides were applied during this study.

Treatments:

[T1] - Control (Ctrl):

• Plants were maintained at a commercial level with a liquid fertilizer program (every 3 days).

[T2] - Treatment 2: (Ctrl+Vegro®)

• Control (Ctrl)
• Vegro® (1 Qt/acre per application as per above)

[T3] - Treatment 3: (Grower standard)

• Grower Std (GS)
• Luna experience (17 Floz/acre per app)

[T4] - Treatment 4: (Grower Std+Vegro®)

• Grower Std (GS)
• Luna experience (17 Floz/acre per app)
• Vegro® (1 Qt/acre per application as per above)

APPLICATIONS

Foliar applications of all treatments were made on:

• 4/26/2017 (App. A),

• 5/3/2017 (App. B),

• 5/15/2017 (App. C),

• 5/25/2017 (App. D)

• 6/3/2017 (App. E).

AGRONOMIC PROTOCOL

• A hand-held boom (CO2, 40 PSI) with 4 nozzles (Flatfan; XRTJ 1100 2 VS) was used to apply treatments at 63.9 GPA.

• Each spray pass was 6 ft and there were two (2) spray passes for each plot (total = 12 ft).

• This was done in order to spray watermelon vines growing over the ground on either side of the plastic.

• REPLICATED 4 TIMES per treatment.

CROP & TECHNIQUE

• Plastic beds (32-foot top x 6 feet tall and 6-foot row spacing). WATERMELON (Sangrea variety).

• Transplanted into one row/bed (1.5 ft. plant spacing) on Dec. 12, 2017.

• Each plot, was 40 feet long x 1 bed (40 ft. x 12 ft.=480 sq. ft.)

• Depending on the weather, beds were irrigated through each drip line (per row) once a day.

REPLICATED 4 TIMES per treatment.

Study Results

-16.3%

Gummy Stem Blight reduction Vegro Vs Grower Std

+18.5 Lbs

More weight count Vegro Vs Grower Std

0%

Vegro® is zero Phytotoxicity

For disease control:

-16.3% is the reduction rate on Gummy Stem Blight when Vegro® is added to the Grower Std. [T3] GS Vs [T4] GS+Vegro®

For quality yield:

+18.5 Lbs (+5.25%) when Vegro is added to the Grower Std. [T3] Vs [T4]

Objectives: A genuine agronomic and scientific study, to demonstrate when applied by foliar the ability of VEGRO® to improve the efficacy of the fungicides by better controlling the gummy stem blight reduction. In the meantime, it will help to grow more quality yield and more natural. Main parameters monitored for this study: Pressure disease on GSB, Yield (weight & unit pieces counts).

For a better view of the graphs and charts, reposition your mobile device into landscape mode.

Severity Gummy Stem Blight (GSB) >> -16.3% when Vegro® is added to Grower Std. [T4]

• Colors are date of evaluation for the pressure disease on GSB

When Vegro® is added to the Grower Standard, it improves the efficacy of the Grower Standard and more precisely the fungicides. It reduces the presence of the Powdery Mildew by -16.3%.

Fruit Count (in pcs)
Fruit Weight (in Lbs) >> +18.5 Lbs (+5.25%) in [T4] compared to the Grower Std. [T3]
