AGRONOMIC PROTOCOL
  • • This trial was conducted in open field with a large and reputed citrus grower within Indian river district, FL
  • • Grapefruit trees (cv. red on cleo rootstock) were planted in 1977 (40 yrs old, perennial height = 35  ft).  The row spacing was 25 ft and tree spacing was 16 ft.
  • • Each plot comprised four (4) trees (25 ft width x 64 ft length) and each plot was separated by an untreated buffer tree.  There were four (4) replicate plots for each treatment.
  • • No grower applications of INSECTICIDES were made during this study.
APPLICATIONS
  • Foliar Application (Apps. A; Trts 2-7)
  • A SINGLE FOLIAR AIRBLAST SPRAY application were made on:
    • • 09/07/2018 (App. A)
METHODOLOGY
  • • Application was made by airblast
  • • Treatments were applied with a tractor mounted sprayer (Rears Pak-Blast, 100 gallon sprayer) at flush emergence and expansion (ca. 1/4-1 inch in length).
  • • Treatments were applied at 100 GPA (spray mix = 13.6 gallon + 6.4 gallon overage = 20 gallon spray mix), 200 PSI and at a tractor speed of 2.7 MPH (1800 RPM, Gear B2);
  • Each side of the tree in each plot was sprayed with 5 nozzles (ceramic: D8 x 5; all ceramic nozzles were fitted with a D25 whirlplate).
EVALUATIONS
  • ASIAN CITRUS PSYLLID (ACP) or (DIAACI)
  • Psyllids  were counted on 9/10/2018, 9/14/2018, 9/21/2018, 9/28/2018, 10/5/2018 and 10/12/2018.
  • Adults:
    • • A sweep net was used to capture adults on each of two trees in the center of each plot (2 SWEEP/1 PLOT).  Each tree was sweeped for 10 seconds and the contents of the net counted.
  • Eggs & Nymphs:
    • • In each plot, eggs and nymphs were counted with a hand lens on 10 separate flushes (10 BRANCH/1 PLOT).
PHYTO-TOXICITY
  • • Trees in each plot were examined for signs of phytotoxicity (discoloration etc.)

Cyan 365® is zero Phyto-toxicity

[T5] BEST

Overall best treatment (Insecticide+Cyan365)

This study here is not to demonstrate that Cyan 365® is curing any disease and certainly not the HLB. Cyan 365® is not an insecticide and there is no such claims in this study.

The primary matter in this study is to demonstrate that Cyan 365® conjonctly used with an insecticide make the program performing even better. As the matter of facts, it is about to reduce and combat the proliferation of the ACP's adults, eggs and nymphs when Cyan 365® is combined with an insecticide.

On a second level, we can imagine that using less chemicals for a better result is something reachable and provable.

Also it is very interesting to note and deserves to be enhanced: The results obtained in this agronomic experiment have been achieved with ONLY one application but replicated 4 times.

Objectives: To demonstrate the ability of CYAN 365® to improve the efficacy of the insecticide used by the citrus growers to help at reducing the population of the ASIAN CITRUS PSYLLID (responsible of the degenerative disease also called "Greening and/or "HLB) on Citrus.

[T5] IS THE BEST TREATMENT with [T3]

OVERALL ACP 's COUNT (adult, egg, nymph)
  • [T5] is the best overall Treatment to reduce the population of ACP's (adults, eggs, nymphs)
  • Accordingly, the association of the insecticide (Agrimek SL) with Cyan 365® is beneficiary for the Grower to combat with an improved efficacy the Asian Citrus Psyllid.
